Boat repair log
Boat repair log — from 'something's wrong' to fixed.
Report the problem with a photo, track the fix, record the cost, and never lose the story of what happened.
For shared boats, partnerships, clubs with a maintenance lead, and owners who use a yard.
A repair log is different from a maintenance log: maintenance is scheduled, repairs are surprises. What matters with a surprise is that it gets reported the moment it's noticed, that someone owns it, and that the diagnosis and cost are written down for next time. Print the free tracker below, or use EZ BoatShare, where any member can raise an issue with a photo from the dock and anyone can add notes or mark it fixed later.

- Port trim tab stickingreported by Brian
- • Sprayed the ram, still slow to come up.
- Cabin light outreported by Kirk
- • New bulb in the spares drawer.
In the app every report can carry photos, the whole crew sees it instantly, and anyone can add a note or mark it fixed later — no admin needed.

Reported from the dock
Any member can open an issue with a photo the moment they spot it, before they forget.
Anyone can update it
Add notes, more photos, or mark it fixed at any time — no need to be an admin or wait for one.
Costs land in the ledger
A repair bill flows straight into the shared expense ledger and splits by ownership share.
Built for the way you run it
Shared boats
The next captain sees open issues before they leave the slip instead of discovering them offshore.
Working with a yard
Hand the yard a written symptom and history rather than a vague phone description.
Recurring faults
The log shows the pattern — three overheats in one season means something bigger than an impeller.
Insurance and warranty claims
Dated photos and a written diagnosis are exactly what an adjuster or manufacturer asks for.
Common questions
What's the difference between a repair log and a maintenance log?
A maintenance log records scheduled service on intervals — oil, impellers, zincs. A repair log records unplanned failures, with the symptom, diagnosis and fix. Keep both; they answer different questions.
How should I prioritize repairs?
Safety-critical first — anything affecting steering, propulsion, fuel, bilge, fire or navigation lights. Then items that stop the boat being usable, then comfort, then cosmetic.
Can members report issues without an admin?
Yes. Any member can raise an issue with photos, and anyone can add notes or mark it fixed. Everyone with access sees it immediately on every device.
Report it before you walk off the dock.
Grab the free tracker, or let anyone on the crew log an issue with a photo and watch it through to fixed.
